Insurance Coverage Disputes

We litigate coverage disputes on a national scale.  These disputes have covered a wide range of litigation, including declaratory judgment actions, bath faith, and extra-contractual liability claims.  These multi-million dollar disputes have included questions of coverage for directors and officers liability, broker/dealer professional liability, and comprehensive general liability.   

Bad Faith Claims

We litigate bad faith claims.  This includes denials under the policy, claims that the company has delayed investigation or payment of a claim, and allegations that only partial payment of benefits was made.  Regardless of the way in which a bad faith claim first arose, Crotty & Schiltz has a strong motions, trial, and appellate practice capable of representing clients effectively through each phase of litigation.   

Insurance Defense

We defend insureds in a range of circumstances.  We proactively manage defense costs and indemnity payouts by evaluating liability and damages early on.  And we seek to bring cases to an early resolution whenever possible and practical.  Yet, our attorneys are ready to proceed to trial if settlement is not possible.  We have years of experience trying cases in a range of civil litigation matters.
